Replace Acer Dell PC at Number Two
Taiwan company Acer replaced Dell as the PC maker world number two in the third quarter.
Acer PC shipments soared 31 percent from the previous quarter and 16.6 percent compared to last year.
PC shipment market parts company in the world by 13.4 percent in the third quarter, up from 11.6 percent the previous year period, according to Matthew Wilkins, iSuppli analyst.
“Acer rose to rank number two in the global PC business does not only reflect strong performance in the notebook segment, but also the history of the emergence of Asia as a major force in the computer industry,” said Wilkins.
The rise of Asia is also demonstrated by Lenovo, based in China, the third-quarter PC shipments increased 17.2 percent in a year.
“The growing Asian producers in the global PC business, because of their aggressive prices, along with their ability to quickly react and embrace new developments, such as a PC netbooks,” said Wilkins.
Per year growth in 36 percent of Lenovo’s notebook products, was among the figures obtained the highest growth by the OEM manufacturer of top 10 in the quarter, said Wilkins.
“They are in second place in the Samsung in the growth of per year, but must be careful because the number is much smaller Samsung,” said Wilkins. “The growth of Apple notebooks per year, about 35 percent.”
Acer got Suskes of continued aggressive pricing strategies, shipping a lot of netbooks, and strong gains in Europe and the United States.
